Size and Measurement Guide

Last Updated: 1 August, 2026

Finding the right fit is one of the most important parts of shopping thrift.

Unlike new clothing, thrifted garments come from different brands, countries, and manufacturing standards. Because of this, the size printed on the garment's tag is often not an accurate representation of its actual size.

For example:

  • A pair of jeans labelled 32 may actually measure 36 inches.
  • A T-shirt labelled Large may fit like another brand's Medium.

That's why every garment on REHASHA is measured individually before being listed.

Rather than relying on tag sizes, we recommend comparing our measurements with a similar garment you already own.

Before You Compare Sizes

Please keep the following in mind:

  • All measurements are taken manually on a flat surface.
  • All measurements are provided in inches.
  • These are garment measurements, not body measurements.
  • Due to manual measurement, a variation of approximately ±0.5 inches is considered normal.

How Our Measurements Work

Some garment measurements are taken flat but displayed as the garment's full circumference.

For example:

  • A T-shirt measuring 17 inches Pit to Pit will be displayed as a 34-inch Chest.
  • A Hem measuring 15 inches across will be displayed as a 30-inch Hem.
  • A waistband measuring 16 inches across will be displayed as a 32-inch Waist.

This makes it easier to compare our measurements with standard clothing sizes while still showing exactly where each measurement is taken.

REHASHA Size Filters

To make browsing easier, REHASHA uses XS-3XL size filters for tops and outerwear.

These filters are based on the
measured chest circumference of each garment. Since our inventory comes from different brands, countries, eras, and sizing systems, the original size printed on a garment may not match what you would normally expect from that size.
How to Use the Size Filter

The size filter is designed to help you browse and narrow down the catalogue. It is not a guarantee of how a particular garment will fit.

For the actual fit, always check the exact measurements provided on the product page and compare them with a similar garment that already fits you well.

For bottomwear, such as jeans, trousers, cargo pants, and shorts, we use waist measurements rather than chest measurements.

Example:

A T-shirt may have an original tag that says L, but its actual chest measurement may be different from what you would normally expect from an L.

REHASHA assigns the catalogue filter based on the garment’s measured chest, rather than simply copying the original tag.

This keeps our filters more consistent across different brands and sizing systems.

Remember: The size filter helps you find products. The exact measurements help you choose the right fit.

Our Recommendation

For the most accurate fit:

  1. Lay a garment that already fits you well on a flat surface.
  2. Measure it using the same method shown below.
  3. Compare those measurements with the measurements on our product page.

This method is far more reliable than relying on the garment's tag size.

Frequently Asked Questions
I usually wear a size 32 jeans. Can I simply order another size 32?

No. Different brands and countries follow different sizing standards. Always compare our measurements with a garment you already own instead of relying on the tag size.

My favourite jeans fit perfectly. How do I compare them?

Lay your jeans flat and measure the waist, length, front rise, thigh, and cuff using the same method shown above.

Then compare those measurements with the measurements listed on the product page.

The garment tag says "Large", but your measurements look like a Medium. Which should I trust?

Always use the measurements listed on the product page.

Tag sizes vary significantly between brands, countries, and manufacturing years. Every REHASHA garment is measured individually before being listed.

Why don't you use a standard size chart?

Every thrifted garment is unique.

Since our inventory comes from hundreds of different brands and sizing systems, a single size chart would often be inaccurate. Individual garment measurements provide a much more reliable guide.

What if I'm between two sizes?

Compare our measurements with a garment you already own that fits you well.

Choose the item whose measurements are closest to your own garment rather than selecting based on the tag size.

I measured my garment and my measurements are slightly different from yours.

That's completely normal.

Measurements taken by different people can vary slightly depending on placement and technique. A variation of approximately ±0.5 inches is considered acceptable for manual measurements.

What if I think the measurements are incorrect?

If you believe there is a significant measurement discrepancy, please contact us before wearing, washing, or altering the garment.

We'll review the measurements using our standard measuring process and, if we determine that a significant measurement error occurred on our part, we'll work with you to find an appropriate resolution.

I'm still unsure about the fit.

We're happy to help.

Before placing your order, send us the measurements of a garment you already own, and we'll help you compare them with the item you're interested in.
